General notes
This room in Bolton Hall contained relics, paintings and antique carved oak furniture. It is part of the suite which Henry VI used when hiding in the Hall after the Battle of Hexham in 1464 .
This Hall was reputed to be the oldest hall in Craven dating from 1229. There were extensive renovations to the hall in the 19th Century.
After the First World War the Hall became too expensive to maintain and succumbed to disrepair and dry rot. It was eventually demolished in 1959.
