General notes
Burnley's Market Hall was opened in November 1969. It replaced the much missed Victorian market hall that had been on the same site since 1870.

The new hall comprises of an indoor market with 119 stalls and an outdoor market with 142 stalls, built at a cost of £600,000.

In the background, one can make out a number of buildings on Curzon Street, which were later demolished. These include the Commercial Arms and Bankfield Shed.
