Burnley's Market Hall was opened in November 1969. It replaced the much missed Victorian market hall that had been on the same site since 1870.

The new hall comprises of an indoor market with 119 stalls and an outdoor market with 142 stalls, built at a cost of £600,000.

Here the roof can be seen being put in place during the construction phase.
