North Street Baths were opened the 1st March 1910. At that time Burnley already had two swimming baths located in the borough. However, with a 40% increase in bathers between 1900 and 1907, it was decided that baths were required in the Burnley Lane area.

The facility comprised of a 75ft by 30ft plunge bath, 12 men's slippers baths, 13 women's slipper baths, a Russian bath, 41 tepid spray baths for children and a female vapour bath. There was also an adjoining house for the manager.
