General notes
Built in 1875 at the Tup Bridge end of Bank Street. The large building on the left was Dawson's Ironmongers Shop for over 50 years and originally a warehouse for Lambert Haworth. It was demolished as part of the town centre improvements in 1967 and the building of the St Mary's Way by-pass. The shop on the right belonged to Veron (Vernie) Disley in the 1950s and was one of many thriving small grocery stores in the town. "Vernie" took orders and delivered to all parts of the town as did many others in the town. It was not necessary for them to do this, it was just part of the good service.
