General notes

William Easton was a brush maker and he opened
his own shop at 30 St. James's Street in c1879. This photograph of his shop was taken shortly before the premises were re-constructed in c1912. After the re-construction, the shop's address changed to number 28 and his sons became more involved in the business.

In May 1923 William passed away. After his death his sons took full control of the business and in c1938, the business moved from St. James's Street to Hart Street.
