Richard Caul (right) was the Borough Librarian (Burnley) from 1946 until local government re-organisation in 1974. Here he can be seen here discussing the transference of Burnley Grammar School's book stock to the libraries' collection with its then head teacher, Noel Stokes. The collection was transfered to Lancaster University Library in 1974.
