Ladies from the chruch on Holy Trinity's Walking Day in 1959. The photograph was taken as the walkers passed Gannow Top on Padiham Road on their way back to the church.

Walking Days or Field Days, were, and in towns like Warrington still are, a common site in the North West. These walking days involved the congregation of a church parading through the streets in their finest clothes and holding aloft their churchs' banner, sometimes with a brass band in tow.
