General notes

Burnley Wood Farm was located on Todmorden Road. The land was owned by the Towneley family and in 1842 it was being farmed by Thomas Whitaker. By 1872 Lawrence Heap had taken over the farm, which stayed with his family until its demolition in c1895.

In the early 1800's the farmhouse was used to hold methodist services on Sundays.
