The view on the postcard is of St.Anne's Square looking toward the pier. The Imperial Hydropathic Hotel/ Majestic Hotel can be seen in the background. Originally called the Imperial Hydro, the hotel was named the Majestic in 1920 - it was still the Imperial when this image was taken.

The postcard is addressed to Mr.W.Squire, 57 Sherriff Road, West Hampstead, N.W.6. Written on 17/10/21 from 80 Church Road, the message reads: "Dear S.Have put you down for Wednesday morning at 8.15. hope this is convenient, wish we had a few helpers, are very short at present. Best wishes, Yours S?? Loveland" The postcard bears the postmark of Croydon, N.W.1 and is stamped Oct.18, 1921.
