The view on the photo is of the tennis courts at the Hotel Majestic, looking towards St.Annes Road West ("The Square"). An electrified tram, number 9, can be seen in the background. The Imperial Hydropathic Hotel was built 1909-1910 on North Promenade, St.Annes-on-Sea. In 1920, it was renamed The Majestic Hotel. During the latter part of World War I, the hotel was used to house officers. The building was demolished in the 1970s to make way for an apartment building.
