This is a view of the North Promenade taken from the pier. Some of the "Porritt" houses can be seen on the right of the image.

The "Porritt" houses on the North promenade were built by William John Porritt who was a director of the St Annes-on-the-Sea Land and Bulding Company and served as its chairman from 1881-1896. (see "St Anne's on the Sea, a History" (2008) by Peter Shakeshaft (p.160-162))
