General notes
Photograph shows vandalised statue in the shrine at the rear of St. Wulstan's church in March 1968.
The newspaper report of 7th March 1965 reads, 'This is all that remains of the statue of Our Lady which stood in the grotto in the grounds of St Wulstan's Roman Catholic Church, Fleetwood. It was smashed during one night and left in this condition to be found by Canon W Rafferty, parish priest. The statue was a gift to the church over 30 years ago and was brought specially from Lourdes. It was the focal point of several processions at the church and is irreplaceable.'
