View from Manchester Road of Nelson Post Office, Tickle Street.
Between 1839 and 1850 the Post Office was run from a cottage on Leeds Road. Postmaster - James Holt.
In the 1850s it was located on Manchester Road.
Between 1860s and 1890s it was then located in 18-20 Railway Street. Postmaster - J.B Whittam.
This Post Office was operational between 1890 and 1976, when it was demolished and a Woolworths Store was built on the land.
At the same time a new post Office was built on Manchester Road, at the junction of Broadway.
In 1995 the Post Office Moved again to the Victory Centre on Leeds Road.
