General notes
The oak-beamed ale-house was build in the 1760 on the old coach road between Colne and Hebden Bridge, when it was known as the Dog & Partridge. The name changed again to The Shooters Inn during the 20th Century.
The Inn was a favourite with the minners of Catlow Quarry, who were paid in Gold Coins, spent them on a pint of ale and a portion of 'Stew and Hard' (a local dish).
