Morecambe Corporation Cart No.5 at the corner of Chatsworth and Devonshire Road- the Park Hotel's tower is visible in the left background, and the houses behind the cart are on Balmoral Road.

This cart is a water cart mostly used for damping down dust during the summer months, the corporation operating two such carts which each carried around 1,000 gallons. These were filled from hydrants by the road, one of which is visible on some of the photographs Mr Eastwood took in Bare.

Mr Eastwood had a Chemist shop in Lancaster, and took a selection of images around Morecambe on glass plates around the turn of the 20th century.
