This bridge is reputed to date from the 13th century, though in the view of John Bentley (Portrait of Wycoller. 1975), it may be much later. It is grade II* listed and the listing description offer a date of 17th century 'or earlier'. The voussoirs, or arch shaped stones extend the full width of the bridge.
