General notes
The chapel was originally located in part of a local mill, but in 1898 it was decided that a more purpose built structure was required. The new chapel was located on Bright Street next to the junction with Waterbarn Street. However, in 1908 the church authorities saw that this too was ill-equipped for congregational use and the new building, seen here, was constructed to replace it. It remained in use until 1970, when it was decided to unite the church with the Ebenezer Church on Colne Road and all services moved there. The building remained in use as a fabric warehouse/shop after its closure.
