Some of the images are from areas away from Silverdale and the surrounding area. It may be that Bird was on holiday locally, and had a few day trips out.

Grange-over-Sands, on the other side of the Kent Estuary from Arnside was formerly part of Lancashire. It's not very far away but before the opening of the railway, to get there was a considerable trek.
The grid reference given is that of St Paul's Church, Grange, whose spire is visible to the right of centre
