General notes

The site was created in the 1890s by Fairhaven Estates Company. Fairhaven Lake was used in the 1950s and 60s for sailing boat regattas, water skiing and hydroplane racing. No longer used for competition, but boats can still be hired, and there is a larger boat for cruises around the lake. Postcard is addressed to Mr.Frank Tyldesley, Swinton, Manchester. Message reads: "Hope you are all well. Weather I think slightly on the improve. Very bracing here have nice sea view. I.I.Ingham"
