The original image was loaned to us by Mrs Barbara Danson of Lostock Hall in March 2012. It was in an album that was compiled by her uncle (who was also the photographer), Robert Thornley, after the Guild celebrations in 1952.

This image shows St Matthew's Church in the Church of England procession. Mrs Danson (then Barbrara Wilmer) is the little girl in the centre the picture glancing backwards. She was age 3 at the time.
