Photograph shows Pendle Hill from the Hard Platts, Nelson, with Wheatley Carr farm in the foreground. Wheatley Carr farm was demolished when the extension to the Lomeshaye industrial estate was built beyond the re-routed Pendle water. It appears on the 1966 definitive footpath map, as does the A6068, (the two parallel lines of hedges beyond the wood behind the farm). A notice in the London Gazette (1979), mentions the farm as part of a legal notice moving the route of a definitive footpath. Development of the Lomeshaye Industrial estate began in the 1980's.
